About Dr Mumba
Dr Nevers Mumba is a highly respected and much-admired Zambian native. He is a brave and dedicated leader of purpose, vision and passion for the nation. He carries several dimensions of life as a father, a Church and community Leader, Senior Pastor, former Vice President of the Republic of Zambia, a philanthropist, and President of the Movement for Multi-Party Democracy (MMD. He’s a 2021 presidential hopeful. He’s a husband, a father, and a leader who was born to touch and change people’s lives.
Nevers Mumba was born on the 18th of May, 1960 at Chitambo Mission Hospital in today’s Central/Northern Zambia. He was blessed with a modest but wonderful Zambian childhood. His parents father Sunday Peter Sekwila Mumba was a teacher and later an inspector of schools. He came from Masandiko Village in Chinsali District. His mother came from Bulimbo, a village in the same area. Both had warm and close relationships with early missionaries at nearby Lubwa Mission. The entire Lubwa Mission was a Christian community so powerful that Mr. Peter Sekwila Mumba also served as a lay preacher in the United Church of Zambia. Nevers in his upbringing resembled that of many African children at the time. He grew up in Chinkumba Village, outlying a remote area of Northern Province. This deeply rural area provided only the very basics for his life. Nevers learned the values of respecting parents and elderly people and the values of carefully choosing the words to use in life.
